Kumari

The movie Kumari was the the first Eastman color Nepali film released in 1977. Kumari started the color film in Nepal for the first time.

The movie was produced by the government initiative under Royal Nepal Film Corporation. Further details will be added as received.

Paral Ko Aago (1978)

Paral-ko-aagoThe movie Paral ko Aago (परालको आगो), directed by Pratap Subba, was produced by Ceneroma in 2034 BS (1978 AD). The black and white movie proved to be a great success due to the nice story and melodious music.

shanti thatalThe music director of the movie, Shanti Thatal, was the first female music director in Nepali movies. Lyrics were prepared by Manbhadur Mukhiya and Indra Thapaliya and sung by Aruna Lama, Dawa Galmo, Pema Lama, Shankar Gurung, and Deepa Gahatraj (Jha),

The actors of the movie were Tanka Sharma, Basundhara Bhusal (Guest actor), I K Singh, Menuka Pradhan etc. Pratap Subba looked after the script and direction.

The movie was based on a popular book by Guru Prasad Mainali with the same title.

Man Ko Bandh (1973)

Government of Nepal established the Royal Nepal Film Corporation in 2028 B.S. RNFC’s first movie, Man Ko Bandh, was directed by Prakesh Thapa. Nati Kaji and Shiva Shanker were the music directors. Amber Gurung scored background music. Salyan K.C and Sushma Shahi were the lead actors in the film. The film was premiered in 2030 B.S. (1973 AD) in Kathmandu.

Parivartan (1971)

Department of Publicity Film Division under the Information Ministry released the movie in 2028 BS. I don’t have much information about the movie. Will update when I could get hold of more information.
